Christina Luna has broken through more than one boundary of the rigorous music industry and has cemented herself as an accomplished Singer, Actress, Dancer and Performer. Her list of accomplishments are astounding, none of which came without the tenacity, passion,relentless drive and talent that she exudes on both the stage and screen.The young soprano has already Debuted on NBC for 8 episodes on the reality min-series Clash of the Choirs as a singer/dancer, Performed the reading of the new musical, Be My Love, accompanied by the 50 piece Nassau County Pops Orchestra, Placed First in New York's Cantamare Voice Competition, wnich established her as the USA guest artist in Palermo, Siciily a year later. Performed With Country Music Star, Shania Twain as well as performing the first song Twain recorded "What Made You Say That" during Shania's "Come On Over Tour", Being cast in the Paramount Pictures feature film "Don't Shoot The Messenger", Produced by Gianni Russo (The Godfather, Prison Break) and continues to perform with Grammy Award winning Singer, Michael Bolton.
Her latest break was when she attended an open call for the new NBC television show, Clash Of The Choirs. After a successful first round of audions in front of NBC's Producers, Music Directors and Casting Directors (while being filmed live) She received the call from the casting Direcor from Los Angeles, inviting her audition for Michael Bolton a week later. The Grammy Award Winning Singer, hand picked Christina at the Final Auditions to be a part of his assembled Choir of 20 singers, who would perform on the NBC show Clash Of The Choirs. Bolton cited Christina as "My ace in the hole, one of my anchors...perfect pitch and a great work ethic" Christina was one of the top singer/dancers highlighted in the successful NBC mini series, which also featured celebrity choirmasters: Nick Lachey, Patti LaBelle, Blake Shelton, and Kelly Rowland. Christina then went on to join Michael Bolton at the MGM Grand Theatre at Foxwoods and at the Rich Forum in Stamford, Conn. at his annual Foundation Gala and Concert.
Christina has been cast in the upcoming musical, "Be My Love" as Betty Lanza produced by TV Producer Sonny Grosso and 14 time grammy award winner Phil Ramone. Christina performed the first reading to a sold-out audience with the 70 piece Nassau County Pops Orchestra at the Tilles Performing Arts Center in New York.
In July of 2007, Christina performed as the USA guest artist in Palermo, Sicily after winning first place in the Cantamare Voice Competition in New York. She has been awarded a scholarship from the Sergio Franchi Music Foundation as well and has performed at the Sergio Franchi Concert.
Christina's professional career began at the age of 16, when she was selected to be a soloist and backup singer for country music star, Shania Twain. It was also during this time that she was accepted into "Intermezzo", a young artist opera training program at the Univerisity of Hartford. By 17, Christina's ability to sing in Italian, Spanish and Latin at such a young age gave her the opportunity to play roles in Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica and to work with Connecticut Opera Conductor, Willy Anthony Waters.
She has performed with Tenor Aaron Caruso at Italian festivals across the country including: Tampa, Boston, New York, New Jersey, and the largest Italian festival in the U.S. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She also successfully produced and starred in her own dinner show at Il Cortile Restaurant, located on the famous Mulberry Street in New York City. Christina was the first female singer to ever perform her own show in this famous new york night spot in Little Italy.
She has been a guest on many radio and television stations in Connecticut and New York, including: WFSB Channel 3, WTNH 8, The New Yorkers, WICC 600, WWUH 91.3FM, ICN Radio.
Aside from her musical gifts, Chrisina has donated her voice and heart to numerous charities and organizations including: The Jerry Lewis Telethon, Toys For Tots, The CT Special Olympics, The Calvanese Foundation,The Sons and Daughters of Italy, The Shriners, Swim Across The Sound, to name a few.
